SETC Summit at PSECE

The Semiconductor and Electronics Training Council (SETC), ASEMEP’s training arm has successfully conducted its 6th Annual Technical Training Summit with this year’s theme: “Coaching and Mentoring… Beyond Training”. This activity was one of the highlights of PSECE 2006 opening day program lined up with other SEIPI NWC activities.

Three big names in the field of coaching & mentoring practice graced the occasion. Ms. Marie May SJ Soriano of Visions & Breakthrough International, Inc. (VBI) talked about the differences between coaching, mentoring, and training with exciting mini workshops for the participants. In the afternoon, Ateneo-GSB Prof. Maria Luisa (Lulu) Moguel shared her expertise on how to implement coaching and mentoring in big organizations, then followed by Ms. Grace “Grachi” Canave of Moog Controls Corp. where she and three of her coachee shared their success stories on coaching their associates at Moog-Baguio City Plant.

This event was participated in by more than a hundred training practitioners in the industry and made possible through the support of ARCDI and some sponsors namely VBI, MBR/Ateneo-GSB, Moog Controls, CLCI, Microtel, and STI-HQ.

It was also on this occasion that the new set of officers for 2006-2007 was inducted by the ASEMEP chairman Mr. Jimmy Apolinar with yours truly as the new Chair (ON Semiconductor), Tita Almalvez (Vice Chair-Allegro), Weng Mandilag (Secretary-Fujitsu Computers), Dexter Mendoza (Temic-Treasurer), Alen Esguerra (TNA Comm Head-Philips Cab), Emer Francisco (TNA Asst Comm Head-Fuji Electric), Casiano Reblando (Trng Evaluation Comm Head-Pricon), Edwin Fabian (Trng Eval Comm Asst Head-P. IMES), and Dolly Mendoza (Academe Comm Head-ISPL).
