Jeffrey Concordia (Intel)/ Richard Ruiz (Toshiba)/ Arceli Gade (Astec) AEC Officers

The Association of Semiconductors and Electronics Manufacturing Engineers of the Philippines (ASEMEP) – Electro Static Discharge Council (AEC) has created another set of milestones during this 2nd Quarter of 2006.

These milestones had been recognized during the ASEMEP ESD Council’s Awards Night last June 16, 2006 at the Palms Country Club, Alabang. Mr. Cesar Quiazon, ARCDI Executive Director graced the event as the Guest Speaker. One of the highlights of this activity was the recognition of the NARTE ESDC Engineer/Technician Certification Exam (6 out 9 Filipinos passed the examination). The winners of the 1st ESD Olympics, held during the 3rd Philippine ESD Forum, were also recognized (Intel being the Overall champion while Philips and Pricon as runner up). Along with these recognitions, other individual and company level awards were given for best attendance and for supporting AEC mission and vision.

In line with these activities was the induction of the new AEC Officers for 2006-2007 led by the ASEMEP chairman Mr. Jimmy Apolinar. The past fiscal years had been very successful for AEC with the consolidated efforts of the 2005-2006 AEC Officers. With the induction of the new sets of officers for fiscal year 2006-2007, AEC aims to be able to deliver the best in helping the industry to become more competitive in ESD Awareness and Technical competency not only locally but internationally as well.
